The GE Handbook is a tremendous tool to help directors like you enhance the visual presentation of your selected show. The booklet is divided into clearly defined sections for easy navigation and a quick start.
The first section provides an overall concept or theme idea as a springboard. Use it to develop and build your one-of-a kind thematic presentation. Ideas for props and costuming abound in this section. In addition to the primary overall theme presented, two alternative concepts are provided to spark brainstorming ideas and allow for variations. Field prop placement and size considerations are also indicated, along with suggestions for field positioning of warm-ups and your opening set.
The second section of the booklet deals with horn, body, and foot work moves. Following the lead of the music, visual horn moves and body work suggestions are indicated and counted out to highlight appropriate musical phrasing.
The GE Handbook is designed to help you develop a stronger General Effect presentation. Use as much—or as little as you want. It is a wonderful launching pad for your own creativity and a great way to begin developing a more visually enhanced performance.
